FLASH FLOODS HOW TO AVOID

Palm trees found to be the extractors of waters, this is seen very
clearly in Kerala, where the state has many , uncounted canals and back waters which are always full but never flood or out flow. The main reason is These canals and river banks are grown with palm trees such as bananas, betel nut trees, coconut trees and oil palm trees. At the country sides, coconut trees, banana trees and jack fruit trees are a common site. Almost every family planted these trees in their land. The river banks and lakes here seen to be overgrown with coconut trees, since coconut is in almost every keralites meal, its not a surprise to see the over populated coconuts in Kerala.
The Keralites and the vegetation are a good example to the other

tropical countries to utilize the land as effective as they can. I have

seen many areas which have been flooded frequently has

overcome the problem after growing oilpalm, sago, coconut and

bananas, these trees absorbs the water from the swamps and from

the soil and keep in their stem and reuse , during drought season.

The Environmentalist, Naturalist, and school kids are encouraged

to plant palm related trees around  school, home and at

public places  if they wish to help the environment and  to improve the quality of their  place.Though date tree is originated and grown widely in dry climate, it is still suitable to grow in tropical land, and its capacity to extract water from the soil is very high, By growing date trees at  frequently flooded  areas, flood can be controlled and the soil can be improved.

Mulberry and its health benefits to human being

Mulberry has been cultivated by man since centuries, for its

leaves, which were used to feed the silk worms that produce silk

material. How many of us know that the berries  are  one of the

fruit which consist of rich beta carotene and functions as

best remedy to lose weight, to purify blood and to detoxify our

body. The red colour of this fruit is rich in vitamins and minerals

and used to help to cleanse the complexion and helps anti aging,

anti cancer and booster to our eyesight, improve one’s vision and

rejuvenates the body when consumed.  The leaves are rich of

nutrients and best as tea, no caffeine and tannin in these leaves.

These leaves found to have multiple nutrients and minerals and

helps to heal many  body ailments. The tea from these leaves

found to be rich of  nutrients and minerals. The plant grows easily

in tropical and in subtropical climate, bears very few  tiny fruit, but

when the branches trimmed, the plant started to bloom in huge

scaleand  even heavier. After every harvest the branches and twigs

are trimmed to prepare for the next harvest.

Man and simple examples from nature

Its very basic and simple the life which we live. We as human beings need to learn a lot from the living things that live around us, for instance, butterfly, grasshopper and silk worms. These little creatures as long they live in the cocoon, they are not useful or meaningful their lives.
But when these insects leave their cocoons and developed fully as small creature they fly as they like and able to find their own food. The ugly little worm which lived in the cocoon , who knows one day it would become a beautiful butterfly fluttering its colourful wings and become the centre of attraction of the little kids.
Once the wild African tree which was known to be a rough thorny tree, which was later  brought to Asia, became so popular for its edible oil, which is known as"palm oil". The wild tree which was used its sticky dried liquid by the kids in The jungles of Brazil, brought by HN Ridly and  the seedlings  were planted in Malaysia, Singapore, Sri lanka and Kerala. This tree is known as The 'Rubber tree' which produce the natural rubber  which is  known as Latex .As long these trees were at their birth place, no one appreciate or realized their goodness, only after sent and planted in other countries, the whole world realized the neccesity  of these plants.
Same goes with the world great leaders, such as MK.Gandhi, Dr.Sun Yat Sen , Mother Theresa and many more world leaders. People learn to apreciate them after these people had gone through much challenges in their lives only, later  the world or the other part of the world realized their good deeds.
None of these leaders were appreciated by their own people, after their service was spoken universally then  Only they were given recognition. This is the Universal truth learnt and adapted by all the selfless people who live to serve others.

Mangrove forest "The wonders of it"

When we hear the word mangrove, The thing that comes to our mind is the mangrove tree and its wood. How many of us are aware of its goodness and the rich resources  available at this place. When Tsunami hit South Asia few years back the  only areas which were not damaged at all were the mangrove forest which were at the coastal land.

Being a child growing up in a coastal town, its not something rare to me. Many of my chinese friends parents were involved in small industries related to mangrove. The mangrove wood is known for its hard wood which is a quality wood to make best charcoal. Nipah is a plant related to the palm and grows healthily in the rich mangrove soil which is full of nutrient.
The "Nipah" is used to make roof of village huts and to make mat from its leaves. The fruit is huge bunch which contains small portion of pulps which taste like coconut but much smaller in size. You just need your thumb to takeout the flesh and eat it. A liquid is obtained from this nipah  plant and is known as "Nira nipah" which is believed to bring down the body temperature and contains health benefit nutrients. It taste much like young coconut water.
Shellfish such as clams , cockles and different types of creatures has made this land their home crabs such as the mangrove crab live here. It is known as one of the rare and tastier crab which is ver difficult to catch. The most tastier mangrove Crab is very difficult to catch and if you are not careful, you might loss your fingers.

This rich swampy land still not ventured by many due to its dangerous soft muddy soil and for the snakes which had make this land their home. So this land is a bit dangerous for the new ones who wants to explore it.
But still This land helps to save the environment with its lush green leaves which cleans the air and the dlong  roots that creep down into the earth and hold it tighly. Those who live nearby this mangrove land dont look down at this wonder plant which functions as "saver of our moth
er earth".
